Is the outer shell water-resistant enough for heavy winter rain in the UK?

It handles a British winter well. The outer shell is 640 denier polyester with a 1,500mm water-resistant, PFAS-free finish - it sheds rain and repels wet undergrowth without soaking through to the insulation underneath. Worth noting: 1,500mm is a robust weather-resistant rating, not a fully waterproof membrane, so for sustained heavy downpours a waterproof outer layer over the top is the belt-and-braces approach. The abrasion-resistant construction handles brambles and rough paths without snagging, keeping the warmth locked safely inside.

How do I find the right fit for deep-chested breeds or dogs between sizes?

Fit is determined by chest girth - measure around the widest part of your dog's rib cage while they're standing naturally. Ruffwear's active fit is tailored to move with your dog's body, though coverage may sit slightly shorter or longer depending on your dog's proportions.
